Pilots of the Efficient Parenting in Times of Permacrisis Project in Spain
The Spanish pilot included four courses: Supporting Children with Disabilities, Women’s Empowerment in Challenging Environments, Children’s Personal Data Protection, and Protecting Children from Digital Misinformation. A total of 32 participants —mainly parents, along with caregivers and grandparents— took part, ranging in age from 25 to 55. The training was delivered primarily online, combining theoretical input, videos, questionnaires, and interactive activities.
Impact and Results
Pre- and post-course evaluations revealed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and confidence. For example, in the module on supporting children with disabilities, over 60% of participants reported feeling very confident in identifying children’s needs after completing the course. In the women’s empowerment module, all attendees improved their understanding of the challenges women face in demanding contexts. Similarly, more than half achieved the highest level of knowledge regarding legal guidelines on children’s data protection.
Overall satisfaction was also very high: 90% of participants rated the content as highly relevant, 93% praised the instructors’ effectiveness, and 77% valued the group activities. Participants particularly appreciated the practical exercises, clear explanations, and real-life examples. Several reported having incorporated non-violent communication techniques and inclusive strategies into their family and professional environments.
Challenges and Next Steps
The main challenges were technical, linked to the online delivery format. However, the facilitation team highlighted the participants’ commitment and engagement throughout the process. Based on feedback, future editions will aim to increase interactivity, include real testimonials, and adopt a hybrid format combining face-to-face and digital learning.
The Spanish pilot confirms that well-designed parental education adapted to times of crisis can strengthen family resilience, improve communication, and foster more inclusive and safe environments for children.
